Craft Group Update

We have reached the decision to cancel the scheduled future meetings of the Paper Scissors Craft (PSC) group, usually taking place in Brinklow. We will therefore not be meeting on Wednesday 30 March. We are sorry if we disappoint anybody by this decision. Both of us are currently very busy with other commitments (and full time employment!) and unfortunately we cannot devote as much time as we had hoped to run PSC at this point. We do hope that in future we will be able to hold craft fairs, workshops and crafting meetings. We would like to thank all of our members for attending and crafting with us. We have thoroughly enjoyed your company and learning from each other about all the products that are out there to use! Hi there!

Happy New Year. We hope that 2011 is a happy, healthy year for everyone.

We just wanted to update you all with our plans for paper scissor craft group for 2011. We have made a decision to stop our meetings at Hearsal Baptist Church in Coventry, this is due to the cost of room hire against the number of attendees and also due to myself and Gemma having other commitments this year. Sorry if this disappoints anyone but we are still running our meetings at Brinklow Community Hall on the last Wednesday of every month.

The dates for these meetings are as follows:

27th July
31st August
28th September
26th October
30th November

Pop these in your diary and we would love to see you there. We always welcome new attendees too, whatever crafting you enjoy and at whatever level. Just bring yourself and a project to work on in a friendly environment. Cost is £3 to cover room hire and refreshments.

September - Brinklow Meeting

Tonight (29 September) will be the meeting of the Brinklow Paper Scissors Craft group - at the Church Hall.

We will be there from 7 - 9pm and hope to see some crafting buddies. New faces are always welcome! Cost will be £3 to cover room hire. Please bring a project of your choice to work on.

Cancelled September Meeting

Unfortunately we have had to take a last minute decision to cancel the September meeting of Paper Scissors Craft. It was due to take place tomorrow, Monday 13 September.

We apologise for the short notice and hope we don't disappoint.

Coventry August Craft Group - Tonight

Well another month has gone by and it's time for us to meet for the Coventry group. We will be at Hearsall Baptist Church at the usual time of 7pm - 9pm tonight - 9 August.

Bring your own project to work on - the cost of the session will be £3 to cover room hire.

Brinklow meeting cancelled for 28/07/10

Unfortunately we have had to cancel the Brinklow meeting tomorrow 28/07/10 as Gemma is on holiday and my mum was rushed into hospital today, so I will be needed there. Sorry for the short notice but obviously these things sometimes happen and we have no way of knowing. The August meeting should go ahead as planned but I will post nearer the time with details.

Brinklow Paper Scissors Craft Group

Just a quick post to let you know that we will be holding a once monthly Paper Scissors Craft meeting at Brinklow community hall on the last Wednesday of every month 7-9pm, starting on 30th June 2010, this is in addition to our meeting at Hearsall Baptist church on the second Monday of each month 7-9pm.

We wanted to increase the meetings to twice a month, we have done it this way so that one is local to Gemma and one local to myself and also as it's in different areas it may be accessible to a wider group of people depending where you live in or around Coventry/Rugby/Warwickshire.

It's a great chance to get together with fellow crafters and share ideas, hints/tips and just get creative in a friendly environment. Cost is £3 to cover room hire and refreshments (tea/coffee). If you need any further information, then please don't hesitate to contact us. It would be great if you could let us know if you were coming so we have an idea of numbers etc.

Please bring your own projects to work on, all crafters welcome whether you prefer paper crafting, sewing, knitting etc. It would be great to see you there.

May Meeting

Hi! The next meeting of the Paper Scissors Craft group is being held on Monday 10 May from 7.00pm until 9.00pm in the usual place of Hearsall Baptist Church.

Over the next few months we are going to use the meetings to allow everyone to work on their own projects. We realise that the summer months are busy and the couple of hours spent with solid time to craft can really help with completing projects. Last month was a really great meeting with everybody sharing tips and hints and we're keen for that keep going!

We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible on Monday. It will be the usual £3 to cover room hire.

April's meeting

The April meeting is taking place tonight - Monday 12 April, sorry for the late post, it's been a little busy for us at the moment!

We'll be in Hearsall Baptist Church from 7pm, as usual. We run through until 9pm. This month is a 'bring your own' session, so bring something with you to work on that will occupy you for 2 hours! Don't forget to bring your own tools too!

Cost will be £3 to cover room hire.

February's Creations

During February's craft meeting we set the group a little challenge - we gave everybody a pack of goodies and asked them to create anything they fancied. The packs contained card, paper, pti glassine bags, brads, ribbon and buttons.

And for a twist - Jan K, Gemma's Mum, is not really a paper crafter but a sewer at heart, so she completed a project she had been working on at home

March craft meeting

At the March meeting we will be talking you through making these Easter baskets if you like. They are simple and fairly quick to make, so please bring your own projects to work on too as they won't take the whole session up.

All that is needed is 6X6 piece of patterned paper or card, a strip of card, small piece of ribbon and embellishments to your liking.

If you need any of the above supplies please email us by Saturday and these can be made available at a small charge. Otherwise cost is £3 as usual for room hire.

Tomorrow's meeting

Tomorrow we have a little challenge for you all, so bring to the meeting a basic tool kit - scissors, trimmer, ruler, glue etc.

Well our first meeting of the year went ahead despite the bad weather, it was lovely to see some familiar faces.

Here is a list of the dates for meeting in 2010, we meet the second Monday of every month, but here is a list for your diaries:

Recent Weather!

Just a quick message to say Monday's craft group will be going ahead - as Gemma lives on the same road as the Church. But, with weather as it is, please only travel if it is safe to do so. As much as we'd love to see all our crafting buddies we don't want any injuries on the way!

If you can't make it and you get chance please send Gemma a quick text or give her a quick ring on 07920 066 814 just so we don't worry!

January Meeting

Happy New Year to all! We hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Year and got time to spend a few days with your loved ones. And may be even a chance to get crafting!

We will be back running the craft group meetings after our December cancellation. The next meeting will be on Monday 11 January from 7.00 - 9.00pm in the usual place at Hearsall Baptist Church. (A car park is a the side of the church.)

We're still able to welcome new members, in fact we hope to see a few new ladies next week! If you want to come and haven't made contact already, drop us an email.

For January's meeting please bring along a project/projects to work on for the evening. In February we hope to have a little tutorial, but more information on that will follow. The cost of the session will again be £3 to cover the room hire.

Any questions before the meeting just let us know. We look forward to the first meeting of the year!

December meeting Cancelled!

Hi all, some news on the December meeting, unfortunately we have had to cancel our meeting in December due to the fact that I am on holiday and that Gemma's grandad has been take ill and Gemma is spending time visiting and caring for him. A worrying time for Gemma and her family as you can imagine. That with all the preparations for Christmas etc it is a very busy time.

We are sorry if this causes any disappointment, we were hoping to see you all before Christmas.

However we will be starting again in January and we will be trying to arrange another monthly meeting in Brinkow.

In the meantime we would like to thank those of you who have joined us for you support and we look forward to seeing you again in the New year.

We would like to wish you all a happy, healthy Christmas and a great New Year.

Next Meeting!

The first meeting of Paper Scissors Craft was held on 12 October and we'd like to say a big thank you to everybody for coming. We really enjoyed our first evening and we hope you did too.

Our next meeting will be on 9 November 7.00 - 9.00pm in the same place at Hearsall Baptist Church - Chapelfields, CV5 (there is a small car park at the side of the church). If you haven't joined us yet but would like to come along please email us at paperscissorscraft@hotmail.co.uk so we can keep a check on numbers.

At the 9 November meeting we will be running a couple of 'make and takes' so you might just learn a new technique! Please bring a basic craft kit with you to use during the make and take (timmer, craft knife, ruler etc). Also bring a project to work on as we may not fill the 2 hours with make and takes alone!

Cost will be £3 to cover room hire.

New Craft Group

Want to meet like minded people?
Want some help with techniques or need some new ideas?

Then, this new craft group could be for you!
‘Paper Scissors Craft’ is a new informal friendly craft group that will be meeting every 2nd Monday of each month from 7 – 9pm, at Hearsall Baptist Church (on the corner of Hearsall Lane and Queensland Ave, Chapelfields, CV5) – the first meeting is on 12 October.

This is an opportunity to meet other crafters and to share ideas and inspiration. There will be refreshments provided, all levels of crafter welcome!

There will also be occasional workshops/make and takes etc. For more information please keep checking this blog.

Cost is £3 per session to cover room hire. Workshops will cost more but these will be advertised in advanced (materials will be supplied at workshops). Bring your own craft supplies and a project to work on for the first meeting.
